Issuance of Policy Regarding Use of Bomb Disposal Vehicles in Punjab

For proper monitoring, better service delivery and to improve response time in case of any threat/ emergency / Bomb Call/ incident, this Directorate issued following Instructions to all Civil Defence Officers in the Punjab regarding use of Bomb Disposal Vehicles. The designated Bomb Disposal Vehicle must be used specifically for the Bomb Disposal duty and it shall not be allowed to be used for any purpose other than the Bomb Disposal Duty.

  • The Bomb Disposal Vehicle must be stationed in the concerned Civil Defence Office along with Bomb Disposal Equipment
  • The concerned Civil Defence Officer shall be personally responsible for security, safety and maintenance of the Bomb Disposal Vehicle/ Equipment
  • The uniform insignia of “Bomb Disposal Civil Defence (Name of District)” will be printed on all sides of the Bomb Disposal Vehicle
  • No alteration will be made by the Civil Defence Offices on the Bomb Disposal Vehicle without prior permission of the Directorate of Civil Defence
  • The Tracking system shall immediately be installed in the Bomb Disposal Recovery Vehicle for proper monitoring of the movement of the Bomb Disposal vehicle. The Civil Defence Officers shall provide the pass-code and other relevant data of the system immediately to facilitate the monitoring of the vehicle at the Directorate level as well

  • Defuse Bombs, IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), VBIEDs(vehicle-borne improvised Explosive Device), Suicide Jackets, Hand Grenades and any other explosive devices  
  • Prepare technical evidence and physical analysis report of bomb blast

Civil Defence Training

The objective is to enhance the capacity of civil society with regard to preventive measures for reducing the occurrence & intensity of disasters / emergencies and limiting their consequences.

Training is imparted on following subjects:

Warden Service/ Razakars

Duties
  • Attend regularly such lectures, demonstrations, practices and exercise or and such other training course according to any scheme or set of instructions that may be approved by Government or the Civil Defence Controller;
  • Perform the functions assigned to the Service by order under the Act or under any other law for the time being in force for the protection of life and property of the people against enemy attack in the area in respect of which the Razakars have been appointed.
  • Perform such duties as may be prescribed by the Government for the protection of life and property of the people in case natural calamities like flood, famine fire accidents, and epidemics, etc:-
Criteria
  • Age above 18 years, Literate & Physically fit
  • Not employed in Defence Forces and essential services
  • Executive Warden should be resourceful and notable of the society

Mock Exercises / Evacuation Drills 2020 to 2025

For better coordination, efficiency, training and capacity building in case of any emergency, mock exercise/evacuation drills are carried out in Factories, Government/ Private Offices and Educational Institutions for the period from 2020 to 2025.

Flood Duties
